The operations department and Knesset Guard (department D) are continuing this year with the tradition – a voluntary project for children and youth at risk
As part of the project to be undertaken on August 6, 2014 Knesset employees will volunteer for a day to renovate the Afikim building. Afikim provides children and youth at risk with social and educational experiences in the afternoon hours and gives children and their parents necessary resources to help them escape the cycle of poverty and failure and move towards social integration and success in life.
The location for renovation was chosen upon recommendation of the “municipal unit for volunteering at the community services administration in the Municipality of Jerusalem.”
Participation in the program is totally voluntary and is accredited to the employee’s vacation days. This type of volunteering gives the employees an opportunity to come together and work as one unit for a joint goal.
